Judicial Council

The Judicial Council promotes and maintains excellence in the exercise of judicial functions, high standards of judicial conduct, effective use of resources made available to judges, continuing education of judges, respect for judicial independence, and public confidence in the judiciary. A Wikipedia title for an Irish Judicial Council was not found; these functions are taken from section 7 of the Judicial Council Act 2019.

The Act provides for the establishment of Comhairle na mBreithiúna, or in English the Judicial Council. The establishment day appointed by the Judicial Council Act 2019 (Establishment Day) Order 2019 (S.I. No. 641/2019) is 17 December 2019.
