Removed two incorrect Louth County Council purchase-order publications that repeated data under the wrong year: the Q1 2025 file was also listed as Q1 2026 (€116.4 million) and the Q1 2022 file as Q1 2023 (€17.7 million). The correct Q1 2025 and Q1 2022 publications remain. Q1 2026 and Q1 2023 will stay blank until the correct files are found.
Organisation pages now let you subscribe to email alerts. Confirm via email first; a digest goes out the next morning around 9am when new spending was published. Every alert includes an unsubscribe link.

October 2026

Added more grant awards from public sources: Sport Ireland core and high-performance investment allocations for 2026 (NGBs, local sports partnerships, and other funded bodies); HSE National Lottery grants of €5,000 and over for 2015–2024; and Department of Justice Community Safety Fund awards for 2022–2025. As with other grant data, these are published allocations and award lists, not verified cash drawdowns.
Corrected incomplete Education and Training Board purchase-order imports after kind viewer feedback: Cork ETB (including two large modular-accommodation orders in Q2 2023) and Kilkenny and Carlow ETB now match the published source totals. Thank you to readers who spot-check the data — reports like this help keep Public Purse accurate.
Expanded grants coverage: Screen Ireland funding decisions, Heritage Council grant scheme offers, and Science Foundation Ireland grant commitments (alongside existing Arts Council and Coimisiún na Meán awards)
Grant publications now show a Grant badge, award-oriented labels, and a dedicated disclaimer that awards and funding decisions are not verified cash payments
Organisation pages show the grants disclaimer when an organisation has published grant data (and keep the purchase-order disclaimer when they also publish POs)
Grant publication titles now follow the source scheme or document name (for example Funding Decisions, Grant Scheme Offers, Grant Commitments)

Matthew Fenlon/TPSA and Albert Dolan TD shared the reference list showing where the underlying data can be found. The list has been built up over time through extensive research and sustained engagement with public bodies, including getting bodies to meet their existing obligations to publish purchase order/payment data.

Through Albert’s PQs and PAC work, and direct engagement with bodies, a significant number of organisations have published their data for the first time, including Transport Infrastructure Ireland, the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board/Children’s Hospital and the Arts Council, among others.

That work forms part of the wider “Golden Thread” project which has the goal of making it possible to trace public money from tender → contract award → purchase order → payment.

Added spending-per-quarter graphs on organisation pages
Added paid one-year CSV licences via Stripe Checkout (VAT, coupons, receipts, and a customer billing portal), with passwordless sign-in after purchase
Expanded data quality disclaimers on organisation and download pages, including how uneven source publications and automated extraction can affect the data
