Road Safety Authority

Also known as RSA.

The Road Safety Authority carries out road-safety work for the State, with functions passed across from the Department of Transport. Those include certificates of competency, test certificates and registration of driving instructors, and the Minister may assign further road-traffic functions by order.

It was established on 1 September 2006. Section 3 of the Road Safety Authority Act 2006 created the Authority on the establishment day, and S.I. No. 462 of 2006 appointed that day.
